The Prairie Region Halfway House Association is a member organization dedicated to promoting information, education and leadership for its membership and the community in order to contribute to a more effective justice system.
History of the Organization
The Prairie Region Halfway House Association (PRHHA) was formed during an organizational meeting held October 30 and 31, 2003, in Edmonton, Alberta. The meeting was in response to interest expressed by a number of Community Residential Facilities in the Prairie Region to form an Association to promote practices, which would contribute to a more effective justice system; the Ontario Halfway House Association facilitated that organizational meeting at the request of the organizers. Minutes of the meeting are available. The meeting was organized with the assistance of funding from Correctional Services Canada under Contribution Agreement funding.
